Math hurts my head...

Tonight Tia and I were talking on the phone. Somehow, we scientists decided that we needed to know how many hours we have spent talking in our years of friendship.

We met in 1994, in the 6th grade. Given that Labor Day 1994 was on September 5th, we assume that we met on September 6th, 1994. So we have known each other for 14 years, 4 months, and 29 days.

We developed a highly sophisticated, scientific, and 100% accurate algorithm to find the exact number of hours we have spent talking in those years. After what seemed like hours of difficult calculations, we reached our final answer. We have spent a total of:

8911.332 hours, or
1 year, 6 days, 7 hours, 19 minutes, and 55 seconds talking.

Taking it a step further, if talking to each other were a full time job, we would have been employed for 4 years, 5 months, 14 days, 9 hours, 1 minute, and 26 seconds at this job (assuming a 2 week vacation each year).

Assuming we were paid minimum wage (though I do believe we deserve more, we are very experienced) we would each have made $60,151.49 over the course of our friendship.

I think mine is still in Tia's Acura...

Ahh, the value of a true friend. :o)
