Wrestlemania

I think Luis is in heaven. He is finally able to wrestle again, and the competition is tough. Some may say its not fair, they double teamed him. But he still outweighs them by almost triple, so I'd say he has nothing to whine about.

Kicking Dada's butt:

Uh-oh!! The tables have turned:

Match over.

Today

Today was a very tough day. The boys decided that 6:30 would be a great time to start this tough day. I've decided that it probably wouldn't have been such a tough day if we hadn't started it so early. The morning started off like any other, we got dressed, ate breakfast, and went for a walk. Darius was a little more grumpy than usual, but he also slept almost the entire walk, so I assumed he was tired. I figured since he slept for almost an hour that he would feel better after we got home. I was wrong.

He apparently did not feel better, he was miserable all morning. He took a nap at one, and was still miserable after he woke up. He would get upset over something, I'd pick him up, hold him, make him feel better. He would climb down off my lap and five minutes later something else went wrong. Now, Luis wasn't home more than five minutes when he said 'maybe he's teething.' Duh. He probably is, and I suck as a mother because I never think of teething. I didn't with Taye, and I don't with Darius, its no wonder he was so miserable. The rest of the evening he seemed to feel much better.

Of course that led us into Taye's usual meltdown time. For some reason Taye seems to have a really difficult time every day right around the time Luis gets home. I don't know if its the transition, or the fact he doesn't nap and is just lagging at that time, or because I get distracted talking to Luis and then making dinner and he is needing more attention from me. It could be all three, or something else entirely. But either way, its not a whole lot of fun for anyone. Dinner was peaceful and nice, and afterwards I took the boys to the grocery store while Luis worked on the bathroom wall. From that point on I'd say it was a good day. That last hour. And now they're in bed :o) Forgive me for being slightly relieved and happy. I do love them very much.

Just to show it wasn't all bad, we had a carwash in the driveway today. It wasn't as big a hit as I had anticipated, but Taye was happy to get to run around in the front yard for a change, and Darius loves to play with water. So it bought us 45 minutes or so of peace (and some good pictures).

The spray bottle is lots of fun...

especially when you drop it in the bucket!

And just for good measure (I'm sure that tree is filthy, excuse me was filthy)...

Darius' new pet:

Taye fed some sticks to our car, apparently it was hungry. Taye should know, he speaks car.

"Yum, yum, yum!" the car proclaimed.

Davis' Farmland

Yesterday we met Rue and Rowan at Davis' Farmland. It was HOT, but a lot of fun. I thought it was so funny that all the animals were in pens, but we saw several 'escape' and no one seemed to mind. There were sheep and gotas (and chickens) wandering around the whole place.

This one looked like he was just gonna jump out.

The sell little cups of food for you to give the animals, and it seemed like at every pen they would line up when they saw us coming. Good thing Rowan had food for them!

They had a play area set up that I thought we would never escape from. There were far too many vehicles for Taye to play with.

But eventually we did move on. And its a good thing we did, or we would never have been able to see this guy:

The poor thing was just funny looking from every angle. I thought it looked like something out of Dr. Seuss. When we got home I told Luis I had to show him a picture, that he would not believe what they did to one of his countrymen. (I'm bad, I know). I thought it was a llama, but apparently its an alpaca, and they shave them like that every year, so Luis was not impressed.

There were so many baby animals everywhere, the tiny baby sheep was my favorite.

This poor goat climbed up on the chair. I didn't think it looked like a good idea, but who am I to tell him what to do? Taye joined him on the chair, and the goat then tried to get onto a different chair. He stepped onto the arm of the other chair, which caused it to tip, whack him in the head, and dump him on the ground. He decided he was done with the chairs.

After we finished with the animals, we headed over to the water park to cool down. The boys got pretty wet, which surprised me since they really didn't get into it much. We spent maybe 20 minutes there and then headed home. Luis later yelled at me for getting a sunburn, he's very bossy. All in all it was a fun day.

Blueberry picking

On Wednesday we decided to go blueberry picking. We surprised Luis after work and made him come with us :o) He didn't mind. It was a gorgeous day, and the blueberries were HUGE! We were the only ones there, and it didn't take us long to fill a big bag. Today I made blueberry muffins - 3 dozen regular sized muffins, and 4 dozen mini muffins. I doubled the recipe, not realizing how many it would make. Oh well, the neighbors didn't mind me bring over the extras. And we still have blueberries left over. It was a lot of fun.
