Dinner with Daddy

On Tuesday we brought pizza and visited Daddy at work for dinner. Taye asked on Monday if we could have a picnic, and if Daddy could come too, but since he wasn't going to be home for lunch we decided to do dinner instead. We used to have lunch with him fairly often when he worked days, but for some reason we don't do dinner very much. It was great for all of us to be able to spend the time together.

Of course, after eating, there was wrestling. It aids digestion, you know.

Big Brother

Hey...

what about me? Lemme in!

Guys? C'mon, I want to come in too!

Woo-hoo!

Mya's latest trick

Little Helper

I knew she'd come in handy someday.

Excuses, excuses...

Reasons I haven't updated my blog:

1. Absence of blog posts makes the heart grow fonder.

2. School is back in session and I'm on my own again.

3. Working on the house is more fun than blogging.

4. I like listening to you all whine.

5. Any free time I had was devoted to knitting for the craft fair, which would have been a total waste except that it pushed me to knit and stock my shop. I've had 3 sales since Monday. :o)

6. Sometimes I just get sick of loading pictures onto my computer, then onto Photobucket, then on to here, rearranging them (because Blogger will inevitably put them in the wrong order), and then coming up with something interesting to write about.
7. We haven't done much worth reporting, just a lot of lying around...
and hanging out, that sort of thing.
(Photo taken by Daddy, I would have rescued her right away.)

8. I was trying to top Penny's record of longest time between blog updates. I couldn't do it.
9. I'm just very busy, you know!
10. I could blog, but I won't, and you can't make me.

Long Lost Photos

From the depths of my cell phone, where I never remember to load photos onto the computer, I bring you...

The farmer's market...

Chuck E. Cheese with Buppa and Val...

Uh, I have no idea where she learned this from...

And finally, trying on hats at the Army Navy store near camping...
(is this Army or Navy?)

Butterpillar

We have found so many cool bugs here since moving. Its amazing how different the wildlife is just across town (though I'm sure the enormous woods behind the house may have something to do with it). Darius found this huge, colorful caterpillar last week. At least, I think its a caterpillar.

Playground

Last week the kids and I took a picnic dinner to the playground (one of the advantages to having our big meal at lunch time - sandwiches can be dinner). I don't know why we don't come here more often. Its right up the street and the kids all love it.

This is the first time Mya has actually played on a playground. I think its safe to say she had a good time.

Quotables

Darius and I were playing one day, and I told him I was going to eat him:

Darius: You can't eat me!
Me: Why not? You're made of chocolate, aren't you?
Darius: NO!
Me: Well, what are you made of then?
Darius: Body!

While we were making the blueberry pie, Taye and I were talking about berries. I asked him what kind of berries he likes.

Taye: Just blue...and black...and raz.

More of how we roll...

Learning to knit:

"Whoa, nice baby cage!"

Puppy Love

Last week we had the Kreams puppies visit. The kids had so much fun with them here. Godiva was nicknamed "Batdog" because of his point ears and black mask. Petunia was happy to be a prop for the boys' games, as long as she got belly rubs in return :o)

She also figured out the best spot for dropped food goodies.

It was good practice for when we get our own puppy.
