Christmas 2008

Christmas Eve the kids opened up their new pajamas (well, Auntie Jackie volunteered to open Mya's for her). Normally I don't 'do' the matching PJ's thing, but for some reason, I could not resist these ones.

We woke up Christmas morning, and got Auntie Jackie from downstairs. Then we all headed over to Nana's room to wake her with the traditional sleigh bells (her favorite tradition, I know). One of the first gifts the boys opened when they got downstairs was their new cowboy boots from Buppa. They were a hit, here is Taye holding them up to check them out in the tiny mirror we have hanging in the livingroom.

As soon as he was satisfied with the boots, he went into the other room to search for his hat. We called him back in to open another gift - cowboy hats all around! Luis' was a gift from the kids.

After a few more gifts, Taye had compiled the entire getup:

The dress-up stuff was definitely Taye's favorite, which was no surprise.

Darius mostly liked opening everything he could get his hands on, and then asking for the next one. He also liked spinning Daddy in the egg chair.

Mya was thoroughly unimpressed with the whole thing, but happy to be passed around.

After we finished opening gifts, Jim came over to visit, and Jackie made a yummy breakfast. Then it was off to the napping house for dinner and more Christmas fun.

On the way over, Taye told me that the Dorsey's house is "where you play with toys and eat food." We did both, it was a lot of fun.

Our Christmas journey continued on to New Hampshire for dessert at Aunt Amy's. The boys had fun playing with the trains, and being chased around by my cousin Bobby.

As usual, it was a lot of driving, but it was well worth seeing everyone.
