Yard Work

We were very busy the last couple of weeks working on a top secret yard project for the back yard. Our mission was to have it finished in time for Mya's birthday party, and we just managed. It involved a lot of digging...

and hauling of dirt.

And when she thought no one was looking...

I caught Mya throwing dirt back in to the hole...punk!

While digging, we encountered tons of rocks that had to be moved out of the way. Many of them were easy to toss aside, a few needed a little more muscle, and then there was this one:

As you can see, we didn't actually bother taking that one out of the hole, we were fine with just moving it to the edge.

So what on earth does one do with a giant hole in the yard? Fill it with sand, of course!

Two and a half tons of sand to be exact. We now have the coolest sandbox in the world, if I do say so myself (and I believe the crowd at the birthday party would agree!)

We also cleared a ton of scrubby, brushy, junk from the back corner, but thats not nearly as exciting.
