Airport

The other day we took the boys back to the local airport. We hadn't been at all this year, and thought it would be a good day to see lots of planes and crazy people jumping out of them. It wasn't as busy as we had hoped, but we did see a few planes taking off, and even some crazy people. All in all it was a fun time.

Budding Artist

I'm happy to report that all my craft cabinet obsessing has paid off. I finally got the boys' half organized, and they are in it all the time, especially Darius. Play-Doh has taken a back seat lately to "coloring on paper."

The other day, Darius was coloring in the kitchen, and the rest of us were in the spare bedroom together. After a little while, he came into the room with a piece of paper, and announced, "Hey anybody - I made a snowman!"

I was very impressed by his finished work:

He was more than happy to indulge my photo shoot - saying "cheese" throughout:

Here is Taye's snowman impression:

Fitting In

Taye has been trying really hard to fit in around town. I'd say between the camouflage hat (not pictured, but I'm sure you're familiar), the unbuttoned Harley-Davidson shirt, and the little "beer" belly, he is almost there. All he needs now is a hunting rifle and he should be all set.

Potty Talk

One morning while he was finishing up in the bathroom, Taye asked Luis where his pee goes when he flushes. Luis told him it goes to the ocean. Now when he flushes, he says his pee is going to the Dorsey's beach.

When he first started peeing on the toilet, Taye used to get all excited and ask, "Can you hear it?!?! Can you hear it?!?!" while he peed. He also used to touch the stream, then pinch his thumb and finger together and tell me he had "a piece of pee."

Jackie and I were talking the other day, and I said something about potty training. Taye got all excited, and said, "I wanna go on the potty train!!"

The other day Luis and I took the boys to the playground. At one point Taye came over grabbing his groin, and we both asked if he needed to go pee. "No, I just hurt myself" he said. Luis asked, "Oh, you hit your nuts?" and Taye answered, "NO! My testicles!" Geez Daddy, get it right!

Ultrasound

We had an ultrasound yesterday, which was fun. The boys came in too, but were completely unimpressed, until the pictures were printed. They each got one to carry around. Everything looks great, all the pieces are there, she is (finally) turned the right way, and is still a girl. :o)
Here is a profile shot, and hovering up on the top left corner is her hand:
And here is her face (its easier to see if you tilt your head to the right). The ultrasound tech said she can see hair too, but I don't see it. I believe her, I just can't see it myself - but at any rate, she's definitely our kid if she's hairy already!

Brat

The other day Taye was sitting on Luis' lap, asking him to be Bullseye (the horse from Toy Story 2). Luis told him I wanted to be Bullseye, and to ask me instead. Taye told him, "No, she can't, she's just an old lady!"
