Uncle Bunny, as he has been named, arrived this morning. Emma was so excited to see her Daddy. After some time at home, we decided to go apple picking at Red Apple Farm near our house. We had never been there, but it was a lot of fun. The first thing we saw when we pulled in was a bunch of chickens in the driveway. Right next to the parking lot was a pen with goats, sheep, geese, pigs, and a donkey.
It took some time to find trees that weren't completely picked over, but we did. Emma was really excited to pick the apples.
After some more picking...
After spending some time with them, we went to the store to find out about the apples. On the way, Taye stopped to investigate this old tractor.
Right next to the store, we saw a big sandbox full of toys, so we decided to play there while mom went to get the bag. She was carrying Darius, so she went to put him in the sandbox, and suddenly stopped dead in her tracks. Taye started to run past her and she put an arm out to stop him. She was protecting him from this:

(Not a real alligator, by the way!)
Taye did some mountain climbing, then we were on our way to the apples.

Taye had fun picking the apples, and climbing the trees.
Darius was content to just sit and eat the one he found on the ground.
But we did find a tree with some apples he could reach, so he got to pick too.

we went into the store to check it out. They had all kinds of yummy things - fudge, cider donuts, apple butter, maple syrup, and on and on. They also had this really cool beehive:
At the register we saw little souvenir cups that you could fill with animal feed for $2, so we bought a couple and fed the animals on our way out.
It was a very fun day. Of all the memories, I think my favorite will be the look on Penny's face as the donkey ate out of her hand. Sadly I did not get it on film (or digital, you know what I mean). It was priceless!
